In the mood to save
17th February 2006 by Richard Lee
The number of Brits that want to save has increased by 10 per cent in the last year, according to the Legal & General’s MoneyMood Survey.
A significant 65 per cent of adults in the UK said they were in the mood to save at the end of January compared to 59 per cent 12 months ago.
Julia Clayworth, head of direct investments, Legal & General, commented: “This is the highest figure we’ve yet recorded over 17 months of tracking and indicates the ‘MoneyMood’ of the nation is firmly in ‘save’ mode. It’ll be interesting to see whether the big increase in the mood to save is likely to spark a rise in the volume of ISA investment this year.”
