Teens support ethical investments

Nearly a quarter of teenagers want their parents to invest in ethical companies, according to the UK Social Investment Forum (UKSIF).
Research from UKSIF found that 85% teenagers aged between 15 and 19 years old believe their generation has a responsibility to ensure investments are not used to support companies that harm the environment. A further 65% of teenagers feel their generation should use its’ spending power to make a difference in social and environmental issues.
George Latham, head of socially responsible investments at Henderson Global Investors, which is also a sponsor of Ethical Investment Week (18-24 May), said: “This report shows that ethical investment will continue to grow as the next generation embeds its social conscience into every aspect of their lifestyle from spending to saving.”
