Morrisons customers can save 5p per litre of fuel during May but only if they spend £35 or more.

Those that spend £35 or more between 11 and 21 May will receive a discount coupon giving then 5p off every litre at the pump.

The coupon is redeemable at all 340 Morrisons petrol stations in the UK and customers have until Monday 29 May to spend it.

The offer is open to customers who shop to either in-store or online including those using the Click & Collect service.

There are certain items which won’t count towards the £35 spend including: fuel, tobacco, lottery products, carrier bag charges and gift vouchers. A full list can be found on the Morrisons website.

Rachel Eyre, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer at Morrisons, said: “We are continuing to prioritise helping our customers by lowering the cost of essential purchases like fuel.

“This is our fourth offer on fuel this year alongside numerous price cuts on food, demonstrating our long-term commitment to reducing our customers’ household bills.”

Supermarkets cutting costs

The supermarket savings come as households battle the rising the cost of living and increasing food prices.

The latest data from the Office for National Statistics shows that food price inflation hit 19.2% in the year to March, up from the 18.2% registered in February. That’s the highest level seen since August 1.

With that in mind, last week, four supermakets – Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi – all announced they were slicing the prices of their own brand bread and butter.
